my happy home ~ part II

my happy home

about a year ago, my boyfriend proposed and we bought a house. needless to say it was a fixer upper (the house, not the boyfriend). the house is 1897 victorian in wash park. perfect location not so perfect house. we took on the challenge of a complete renovation and planning our wedding at the same time all during my busy time of the year (wedding season).

renovation took about 5 months so did the wedding planning. we moved in right before our wedding in october. we love our happy home in wash park. it is a perfect combination of old and new.

enjoy these before and afters. here is the master bath (tomorrow will be the kitchen).

the grout was pink too.  really!

On a personal note….

My grandmother passed about over a year ago leaving my grandfather alone in a nursing home. I have been worried about him and his happiness without his wife.  I am no longer worried after I got the following email from my Aunt. He is totally living it up!!!!   He was named The Mardi Gras King of his nursing home. Love it!! Go Grandpa!!!

Email from my Aunt:

“Thought you would enjoy these pictures. “Mardi Gras King of St.Agnes” a.k.a. “Stan the Man King” His crown sits proudly on top of his T.V. to be viewed by all. He plans to wear it throughout the week. This was a most enjoyable evening. At our table was a man who informs us that Stan is considered the ladies man of St.Agnes….all the women love him, including the nuns!”
