A new website!

I  just launched a brand new website that is completely dedicated to high school seniors.  Yes, I know what you are saying “isn’t www.lauradombrowski.net for seniors?”.  And you are right.  Due to high demand of my commercial work last year, I have decided to change my www.lauradombrowski.net to my commercial site.  I was really surprised how much commercial work I shot this past year.  I shot so much that it now deserves it’s own site.  This site is still under contruction.

My new senior site is live!!!!   Check it out!  www.studiopinkdot.com

I have already hired a studio manager and am working on hiring a couple of photographers to handle the volume of work. I am very excited about this new venture.

My first dress appointments!

I had my first dress appointments last week. I have admit that I was a little nervous about finding something that I like.  And a little nervous that the sales ladies were going to keep putting me in a big fancy ballroom gown with lots of bows.

My very low expectations paid off!  Because I had soooooo much fun and found several dresses that I LOVE!!!!!

I first went to Anna Be .  Anna (one of the owners of Anna Be) was so kind to show me the ropes and help me try on dresses.  She immediately recognized my fear of a big ballroom gown swallowing me up. And found me 4 dresses that I just adore.  Evidently, I really like Vera Wang.  3 out of the 4 dress were Vera Wang.

Then I was off to  Priscilla of Boston.  A previous client of mine told me how wonderful Melissa was at Priscillas on helping her with her wedding gown.  So I requested her services for me.  And she was was right. Melissa was extremely helpful.  I found two dresses there that I love.  One was by Melissa Sweet and the other one was by Reverie.  Melissa was also  patient on pleasing my friends on making me try on a couple of short dresses which made me look more like a flower girl rather then a bride. Not a good look for me! :)

I am going to Blue and Bellezza Bridal next week. I will keep you posted on how that goes.

We have made the decision to get married in my hometown of Cape Girardeau, MO in October. They suggest ordering the dress 6 months prior to the date.  I have got to make this decision quickly!!!!  Among many other decisions.

Thank you for all your emails and comments.  I loved them all and found them very helpful. Keep them coming!

My Studio!

I realize this is about 10 months over due!  I moved studios last year in June to the Bolt Factory on 2nd and Kalamath in Denver CO.  I finally purchased a studio that I can make my very own!  Here is the before and after!

On a personal note. . .

I am engaged!!!!!!

So it has been about a week and I am already feeling a little overwhelmed with all the decisions.  It is very weird to think about my wedding.   As a photographer, I have seen sooo many fantastic weddings. How do I possibly narrow down the decisions?  So I am reaching out to all of you that have gotten married and asking for suggestions.

What was the best decisions you made for your wedding?       What was the biggest regret?

I am off to dress shopping today at Anna Be’s and Priscalla of Boston.  Any other boutique’s I should check out?

Later down the road, I will be asking more specific questions so please stay tuned!!! I will need your help!!!  I will also keep you posted on all the decisions I make.

Please just leave comments below.  Thank you!!!!
